Gemma transitioned to Bend in 1998 and began her career in the helping field. Upon her move to Bend, she worked for Bend Metro Parks and Recreation District providing therapeutic recreation activities for youth and adults with disabilities. Her love in the helping field led her to five years of employment as a Supported Educational Assistant for the Bend La-Pine School District. Gemma soon discovered that her passions in assisting youth in their learning and helping them to discover their strengths academically and emotionally was the path she wished to pursue further.
