Jim Thornburg, MS, DC
Dr. Thornburg has been practicing in Bend, Oregon since 2013. He graduated from The University of Western States in 2012 with his Doctorate of Chiropractic Medicine where he also earned a Master's degree in Exercise and Sports Science. Dr. Thornburg, or Dr. Jim as many of his patient refer to him, has emphasized a primary focus on athletes and active populations, and helping those patients achieve their optimal physical health through routine and regular Chiropractic care.
Dr. Jim incorporates many different techniques to customize a treatment plan that aligns with your goals. While still a student Dr. Thornburg gained certification in the Graston Technique and has used those I.A.S.T.M. protocols to assist in healing soft tissue injuries. In fact, he has seen the benefits of such techniques become so important in his approach, he developed and invented his own tool that he uses in his practice still, called The T Tool.
Dr. Thornburg has also found lasting success in teaching patients how to use the McKenzie Method, to mitigate their low back, or neck pain, with a system that is designed to address IVD or Intervertebral Disc injuries. Over Dr. Thornburg's career he has worked with tens of thousands of patients and helped them understand and fix their pain. Besides hands on manual therapy techniques, and traditional spinal manipulations, Dr. Jim is a firm believer that movement is medicine, and he will always include some "homework" or stretches and exercises that will be directly beneficial to your progress and future health.
